I have prayed to be saved, now what?

1. Keep praying and talking to God!!

Now that you are saved, it is important to continue getting to know God. One way to do this is to spend time talking to Him. He cares about you and wants a relationship with you! Tell Him all about your joys and troubles. I keep a prayer journal. I write down my prayer requests and I write in the dates and how God answered. Sometimes God's answer is yes, sometimes it is no, and sometimes it is wait. No matter what the answer is, it is always for our good (Jeremiah 29:11).

2. Read the Bible.

A good place to start is the book of John. This book explains more about salvation. Why read the Bible? It is like an instruction manual or road map. Click on the Read the Bible link above for a list of scriptures references that will help you.

3. Find a church that preaches salvation.

Not all churches preach salvation. Some teach that you can get to heaven by being a "good person". Unfortunately, many "good people" will not make heaven. If we were good enough in ourselves, we would not have a need for Jesus.
